Drive to backwaters a short distance from Cochin. Angling is the most popular mode of fishing here.
Pearl fish is an exotic species and is a keralan delicacy. The backwater has a soothing effect on the mind.
You can angle for hours on end. The host will prepare a Keralan Pearl fish curry with the fish you catch.
You can also take a ride in a country boat in the back waters.

Day 3 Munnar
Morning: Drive to Munnar (04½ hrs).This ride takes you through sprawling tea gardens with lots of picnic spots at each bend . Enjoy the scenic beauty, the marvelous waterfalls and high mountains with the low flying clouds passing by.
Pallivasal water falls: Known for its elegant beauty and is quite a refreshing experience. It is a real feast for the eyes. This is also a great place for trekking. Pothamedu view point: offers an excellent view of the tea, coffee and cardamom plantations in Munnar. The rolling hills, the cool mountain and the breathtaking scenery makes it is ideal for trekking and long mountain walks. Tea Tasting: The Tea Museum takes you to the bygone era and history of this Tea Country. The star attraction of the museum is the Mini Tea Factory located inside. Not only one could see the entire tea making process but also taste the different varieties of tea made here.

Day 4 Munnar - Periyar / Thekaddy
Rajamalai: At 16 km from Munnar town the drive to Rajamalai is breathtaking. The walk along the park is very romantic and has some spectacular view. You can spend hours enjoying nature at its best. The park is also home to Nilgiri Thar an endangered deer species and the Neelakurinji, a flower which blossom only ever 12 years.
Drive to Periyar/Thekaddy.
Periyar tiger Reserve, Thekkady, is an example of natures bounty, with great scenic charm, rich bio diversity and providing veritable visitor satisfaction. Trekking through the dense woods and sprawling tea, coffee, orange and spice plantations is a exciting option. The rare birds in the sanctuary are horn bill, crimson-throated barbet, Bee-eater, Sunbird, Shrike, Fairy blue bird, grey-headed fishing Eagle, Back winged kite, Night Heron, Grey Heron, Malabar Shama. You can also see the common birds like Indian Roller, cuckoo, jungle Nightjar, kite, Malabar trogon, Grey jungle fowl, Robin bird, woodpecker, jungle Babbler and darter etc.

While on wildlife tours to the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary you can spot wild animals such as the Indian Elephant, Tigers, Leopards, Lion tail Macaques, barking deer, monitor lizards, Gaur, Wild dogs, Nilgiri Langurs, Nilgiri Tahr, reptiles such as the King Cobra and the python.
